Red is the most auspicious colour symbolizing passion, love and joy. It can make you feel more energetic and active.

Yellow has the power of sun and is stimulating. It represents wisdom, ideal for kitchen dining or children areas. It balances the mind, boosts health and nourishes the digestive system.

Blue is spiritual, calming and reliable, relaxing and serene. Ideal for bedrooms and bathrooms and for offices and workrooms to enhance learning.

Green is linked to healing and growth signifying life freshness and harmony and is one great choice for it stress relieving and emotionally – balancing qualities.

Purple promotes idealism imagination and vision, combined with white or metallic. Ideal for bedrooms inspired by softness of inviting lavender.

Do you sometimes feel that you are not making the most of your home, that rooms look dowdy; their interesting features are not making the impact? Then, add colour to your house.
Of course, colour can’t provide a solution to every situation but it can be a great decorating help.
If you think about why we love the spring it’s because of the flowers, blue sky, green grass and if you are comfortable with that, why wouldn’t you want that variety and cheerful colour palette in your home. You can have all the colours you love inside the room when it’s cold and passive outside.

Remember that there’s a place for a brilliant colour in every interior and so if you like the idea of using bright colours and look forward to living with them, the question is where do you begin to turn your aspirations into practical reality? All you need to start is to become unfettered and be playful.
  • Don’t be afraid to use brilliant colours.

  • Define your mood, preferences and goal.

  • Chose the colour you feel comfortable in and which you think expresses your self the best.

  • Play with the possibilities of your colour schemes.

  • Refine your colour options down to the best possible scheme. It’s all in how you use which colour.

  • How your contrast it and how complex the pigments is.

  • Pick form complementary colours or clashing colours but always limit yourself to two or three colours initially.

  • Try not to have everything matching – it would be claustrophobic. Instead either balance the prominent colour with white or pale colour and introduce small quantities of same colour in accessories.

  • Thing different combinations of colour would make the same room seen welcoming or cold, resentful or stimulating.

  • And don’t believe anyone who tells you that your combinations of colours are tasteless.

  • Also too many colours in one room become confused – follow this simple rule that light and bright colour go together. For inspiration pictures this always – fresh strawberries and whipped cream. One has verve and the other shows it up in all its brilliance. Put them together and you’ve so much delight, taste wise and visual both ways. Same is with interiors. Getting started with bright colours is tough. There’s such a dazzling choice that it’s difficult to know where to begin. More so we have fengshui, gem therapy, aromatherapy and colour therapy that provide colour usage to enhance well-being. So, if you too believe that colour has the power to heal or bring about change, then the way you decorate your home becomes more then just aesthetics.
