Dining Room

Architectural styles can be mixed for accents and to create interesting tones

This farmhouse in Delhi is set away from the city amidst green landscaped lawns. The design approach for this project was lavish as the client was well traveled. We worked in collaboration with Studio Van Der Meer, Holland. The basic colour palette for the rooms is neutral to offset the furniture, which is a happy blend of contemporary design sensibilities and nostalgia. Splashes of bright colours in small doses have been added. Sophisticated chrome European lighting highlights the rich textures of skills, chenille and leather upholstery pieces in the rooms.
Since this is a huge farmhouse built on split-levels, this is the contemporary and international looking dining area in keeping with the client’s lifestyle. The Italian marble flooring and crisp white walls and doors create a calm background and make the space look open. The lamps and artworks have all been sourced from the client’s country, Holland. The furniture has been sourced locally, in Delhi

This farmhouse in Delhi uses the basic colour palette to offset the furniture, which is mostly contemporary but has hints of nostalgia. A stylish look is achieved by using chrome, smart lighting and rich textures of silks and leather upholstery in the room.

Our brief was to redo the décor of the place, which hadn’t been changed in the 10 years. They also asked us to give it an international look. This is an elegant and streamlined study. One large framed painting, black cushions and a four feet tall lamp placed in the corner, adds a larger-than-life dimension to the room.
The neutral colours of the raw silk and velvet upholstery and the firebricks in the recessed working fireplace, give room an earthy but luxurious feel.

The furniture is made of dark teak wood and the glass top table has a Japanese design. The study has wooden flooring with bookshelves in dark teak on both sides and recliners for comfortable lounging.

A stylish red chair and stool placed near wooden blinds at one corner of the study make it the ideal place for curling up with a good book.
